Would this haircut work for some one with massively thick hair?

Well maybe not as thick as that sounded I think. When my hair was longer(current hairstyle is simailar to my yahoo avatar), when it was and always was in a ponytail, the diameter was probaly 1.5 to 2 inches thick I recall.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if your hair is too thick because they can thin it to make it work. The question is if your hair is too fine. That is what would be difficult with this style. I think its super cute though!

I am growing my hair out for an emo/punk hairstyle, but i have had long hair before and i have very thick hair. I need to make it thinner permanently, which i know is probably impossible. But i need to make it appear a lot thinner while i am growing it out. I used to have very short, spikey hair and so i have a while to go. I want it to reach my nose or lower when right now it is only at my eyebrow and already it is very thick.

it's not impossible. you can buy a pair of thinning shears for under $20. they have a blade that looks ridged and they cut every other hair without changing the length. they are easy to use, you can't mess it up really.

some hair places will have this as part of your haircut, depending on where you live, and others will look at you like you're crazy (if you live somewhere where everyone has light, thin, sparse hair, ahem, not saying where but take a guess) and tell you it's impossible

When you finally grow your hair out to where it needs to be to initially start your punk style make sure you hit up a salon and not a cheap parlor. When you do get your hair cut ask them you'd like to get your hair thinned. They'll know what you mean, and the style you're aiming for. What they simply do is take a scissor and move it in a sideways motion and splice your hair.

Usually your hair starts thinning out naturally by itself when your grow it. I know mine does. But if you really want it to get thin fast.. flat iron it, use chemicals, color it, etc. damaging your hair will make it thin.

I have Redken Rough paste 12. When I got my hair cut into an "emo" style (i dont' usually say that) the hairdresser said I needed to get it to style my hair. I wanted my hair to sorta look like Hayley Williams from Paramore and I wanted the spiky look of her hair. She was able to make my hair look really good but whenever i use it it looks really bad.

well....u definitely have to use a hair straightener to achieve this look. buy a powerful one for hard to straighten hair. you can put a straightening spray in it after you straighten it to keep it straight until you wash it.i suggest using TIGI BED HEAD straightening spray to hold the look..to keep it straight

2 words: Black eyeliner. It is imperative to apply all around your eye. Pointy eyeliner is appropriate. Try dragging it out a smidge at your inner (yeah, I did mean inner) corners of your eye. Applying a pretty eyeshadow is fine to change up your look (think dark colors though, like purple and blue). Red eyeshadow is also acceptable, taking into consideration your a scene kid. Lip balm takes care of your lips. You can use blush, but its mainly all about the eyes.

um, maybe its not the hair that makes you look emo, its the thick black make up. Try putting eye liner on your top lids only and brown and rose shades of eye shadow. it will makes your eyes look bigger. i know thats not what you asked about. but about the hair. i think large curls will make it fuller and give you a different look, but its a lot of up keep. so maybe cut layers around face, sorry theres not much else without a total hair cut, but besides the makeup, you don't look emo

i think lots of layers, with good thick side bangs, the ones that go about halfway across your forehead.

cut about two inches off all round, then leave the front layers long and have it gradually getting shorter to the back, where it finishes in a neat short-ish bob!

not too drastic though, or i suppose you could if you wanted, but i think not too short would look good.

i think lighten your colour a bit, a medium brown, maybe with caramel brown lowlights would look SO good!

this is like a hot hairstyle and colour, for anyone, but the way it goes that bit shorter makes it scene!

and THEN get some wax and put it through your hair (only a bit though or your hair will look greasy!), like ruffle it and mess it around.

thatd be SO hot!

also, clipping little bow clips in bright colours in your hair are pretty scene/emo, and they brighten it up too!

or you could clip those little extensions around your head, in pink would look good if you did medium brown, any shade of pink! if you do it carefully and disguise the clips that looks really cool!

if you were to dye it all go with a colour thats closest to your natural hair colour, so that would be the orangey colour. dont go black! black dye can ruin your hair, ive heard. since youre a blonde, i woudnt suggest a dark colour.

well....u definitely have to use a hair straightener to achieve this look. buy a powerful one for hard to straighten hair. you can put a straightening spray in it after you straighten it to keep it straight until you wash it.i suggest using TIGI BED HEAD straightening spray to hold the look..to keep it straight

You have two options.

First you can have your stylist thin your hair out,and staight iron it. Or you can have your stylist put a straightner in it. The cost depends on the length of your hair. But both do work!!

Ok, so I'm looking for a new hairstyle. I really like emo cuts and colors.

I really have no restrictions except that my school has a "no unnatural hair color" policy (meaning no red, purple, blue, green, etc. =P) which pretty much defeats the purpose of having an "emo" cut. I mean come on, whats an emo without color in their hair? =]

My hair is a little bit longer than shoulder length (when straightened). Its kinda "mop water brownish" right now, but that can definitely change......except my mom won't let me dye it black (=P), and says she'll only let me go really dark brown.

i would like to get my hair cut in the 'emo' style [yes i am aware that emo is a genre of music but i dont know any other way to phrase the hairstyle i want] however, when i asked my hairstlyist for the 'emo' cut she was like, wtf, and i then described it as razor-cut with side bangs [as i was told to by another question on here] when it was cut it wasnt the exact style i wanted, but it wasnt bad either, so i just dealt with it. but now its time for me to get another haircut, and im wondering how do phrase it differently, possibly so that the hairstylist will understand better, or for a link to a picture i can print out to SHOW how it looks. thank you!

when i was getting my hair cut like an emo/scene style i didnt really know what i wanted, so i went online and just searched like emo hairstyles and then scene hairstyles and i like the scene ones the best because the style was more what i wanted. the style was choppy layers real real choppy layers and in the pic there werent that many layers so i just told my hairstylist that i wanted more layerss...

so you should just search all over the interent and find a hairstyle that is something that you want and dont really worry if it will look good on you or not, because you can ask your hairstylist to cut it to fit your face

first! you should grow your bangs a little more... and secong..you need a hair straightner..to do your bangs..you have wavy hair and looks kind of thick but i don't know the texture so yes, a thinning would be good, but it also makes your hair shorter...so get it thinned first..grow it out some more..

Well, i take pictures of how i want my hair to whoever i have cutting my hair. Most of the time they understand it and if they don't, i just let them do whatever and hopefully its cute.

i think lots of layers, with good thick side bangs, the ones that go about halfway across your forehead.

cut about two inches off all round, then leave the front layers long and have it gradually getting shorter to the back, where it finishes in a neat short-ish bob!

not too drastic though, or i suppose you could if you wanted, but i think not too short would look good.

i think lighten your colour a bit, a medium brown, maybe with caramel brown lowlights would look SO good!

this is like a hot hairstyle and colour, for anyone, but the way it goes that bit shorter makes it scene!

and THEN get some wax and put it through your hair (only a bit though or your hair will look greasy!), like ruffle it and mess it around.

thatd be SO hot!

also, clipping little bow clips in bright colours in your hair are pretty scene/emo, and they brighten it up too!

or you could clip those little extensions around your head, in pink would look good if you did medium brown, any shade of pink! if you do it carefully and disguise the clips that looks really cool!
