I want to make my hair more edgy?

My hair is a few inches below my shoulders, thick, layered, dark brown and i have side bangs.

I was thinking of getting one streak in the side of my hair, (colour?) it would look cool in a ponytail.

What are other things I could to for edgier hair, not goth/ emo or anything too ott

get some highlights on your hair but thick ones and about 5-10 in your hair not many. or color half your hair one color and the other another but part it like the part youd do for a half ponttail.
